The Digital Retail Innovations Report 2019, conducted by Retail Insider and Webloyalty, has found that AI, personalisation, robotics and payments are the leading technologies being adopted by the retail sector. Nearly 40% of retailers are reportedly implementing AI within their operations to drive growth.

David Hardiman-Evans: Senior Vice President North America, Ocado

David was appointed in September 2017 as Senior Vice President North America for Ocado Solutions, and is responsible for leading corporate partnership development activities in that region. David joined Ocado in January 2012 as Head of IR and Corporate Finance responsible for investor relations, financing and broader corporate development activities. Prior to Ocado, David was an investment banking Managing Director at DC Advisory Partners and Daiwa Capital Markets, advising companies on M&A, financing, strategy and other corporate finance matters. 

 

Keith Higgins: Chief Customer Development Officer, Unilever

Keith joined Unilever in Sept ’10 following 20 years in P&G. In P&G’s he led the eCommerce business in Europe for 10 years, Pharmacy business for 3 years and set-up the European Customer Innovation Centre in Geneva. Keith joined Unilever as VP eCommerce & Channel Development and was promoted to Global SVP eCommerce in Jan ’12 and Global EVP in Jan ’13. He has built the eCommerce business from €133 in 2011 and delivered €4.2B+ in 2020. In Apr ‘20 Keith was promoted to Chief Customer Development Officer.

 

Dominique P. Locher: Founder, CapMartins

Entrepreneur, investor and advisor with a history as visionary first-generation digital pioneer, transforming the retail industry and embracing change with passion. Dominique is former CEO and co-founder of LeShop, Migros' online channel, and has invested in different startups such as Farmy.ch, the leading online farmers market of Switzerland. He is currently board member at Léguriviera SA, the leading primeur supplier for the high end and starred gastronomy in the French part of Switzerland, as well as external advisor to Bain & Company within the global Bain Advisor Network.

 

Samuel Wenger: Global Head Direct to Consumer, On AG

Sam is part of On’s Executive Team and moved into the role of Global Head Direct to Consumer in February 2020, looking after On’s ecommerce, own retail and customer experience divisions. Sam joined On in early 2017 as Head of Corporate Finance and Business Development, and subsequently took on the role as CFO/COO North America in Portland, OR. Prior to On, Sam had worked for six years at McKinsey & Company in Zurich, London and New York. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a MSc. from the London School of Economics.

 

Moderated by Karena Vaughan: CEO, Catalina Consulting

Karena founded Catalina Consulting in 2016 following a successful career in international trade and investment in the UK, Europe and the US. Headquartered in London, Catalina Consulting works with leaders of fast-growth, technology-driven companies who want to build their businesses through cost-efficient expansion, sustainable supply-chain development and ESG programme management. The company also advises economic development organisations on attracting sustainable technology investment. Karena holds an M.A from Queen’s University Belfast and an MBA from Ulster University.
