The UK was the first G7 country to legally implement the commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050 last year. Given the economic challenges aggrevated by the current pandemic and Brexit, we would like to find out how the UK is planning to lead the country to a cleaner, greener form of growth by 2050.
The AERL is delighted to invite you for a webinar with the Rt Hon Kwasi Kwarteng, Minister of State at the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to talk to us about the Green Economic Recovery and the Future of Energy in the UK.
Minister Kwasi Kwarteng was appointed Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth on 24 July 2019. Previously, he was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department for Exiting the European Union. Minister Kwarteng read classics and history at Trinity College, Cambridge, and then attended Harvard University on a Kennedy Scholarship. He earned a PhD in economic history from the University of Cambridge in 2000.
