AERL Members are kindly invited to a briefing on the role of the City of London Corporation in supporting and promoting the UK based financial services industry. The event will provide an opportunity to hear from senior figures in the City Corporation who lead on promotional work, both in the UK and overseas. The briefing will consist of short presentations, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. This is an opportunity to catch up and to form new links.

The City of London is at the heart of the UK-based international financial and related services industry, and the City of London Corporation works to promote and enhance the City's status and effectiveness as a world-leading global centre for finance and business. It aims to support the competitiveness and growth of City business, engaging closely with business and policy-makers on issues affecting the business environment, economic growth and the global competitiveness of UK-based financial, professional and related business services.

- Catherine McGuiness, Chair of the Policy and Resources Committee who leads the City's relationships with policy makers and regulators in the UK and internationally

- Sir David Wootton, a former Lord Mayor, who has played a crucial role in projecting the City's financial and professional services worldwide

- Paul Double, the City Remembrancer, who is responsible for the City's relationship with Parliament and the London Diplomatic Corps

- Damian Nussbaum, Director of Innovation and Growth, who leads the team supporting the promotion of the City as a global financial and business services hub
