HMRC Briefing: "UK Introduces New Penalties to Tackle Offshore Tax Non-Compliance"

The AERL and HM Revenue & Customs are delighted to invite you for an information briefing on new UK tax legislation aimed at UK tax payers who fail to pay the right tax in the UK.

This legislation requires UK taxpayers to make sure all their foreign income and assets, where there might be tax to pay, have been properly declared by 30 September 2018. Failure to do so will put taxpayers at risk of a tougher penalty regime that commences on 1 October.

Citizens of other countries living in the UK who still have income or assets in their home jurisdiction could be affected, as well as taxpayers living outside the UK who have UK tax liabilities.

This briefing (incl. Q&A) will bring you up to speed with the new legislation, enable you to understand how it can affect your nationals and discuss how you can help them to prepare. Due to the topic please feel free to pass on this invitation to tax attaches in your embassy.

The event will be held in the impressive and historically significant Churchill Room within HMRC’s Whitehall offices and followed by networking drinks.
